The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and centre for Herpetology (Crocodile Park) is situated on the East Coast Road, Chennai and it's a nice place to go with the kids on holidays.
It's about 35 kms from Chennai and it is a place where they do a lot of scientific research and breeding.
I remember going to the crocodile park as a kid. Most often, our school excursions were to crocodile park and my parents have also taken us plenty of time. From then, the place has improved a lot! We've been there twice with the kids and both times they enjoyed the visit.
There are also tidbits of information all along the walls of the bank. The tidbits and anecdotes makes an interesting read!

There are lots of crocodile enclosures and some iguanas and tortoise enclosures as well.
It is well maintained with some guides on standby to answer your queries and explain a lot of the crocodiles.

There is a gift shop and a refreshment bar inside the crocodile bank.
There is also a snake park inside but it was closed due to renovation on the day we went.
My take - It's an interesting place to go with small children. They enjoy seeing the crocodiles up and close. Go in the evening when it's cooler and kids can enjoy more.
