Cornerstone House

Cornerstone House is a beautiful seaside resort on the East Coast Road (ECR). It is situated inside Scripture Union/SU camp.

This resort is open only to Christian families and requires you to be a member.

Cornerstone house is situated in the front portion of SU camp and it is separate from the SU camp. The people who come to attend meetings in the SU camp are not allowed to come to cornerstone house making it secluded even in times of meetings taking place in the SU camp.

Cornerstone house is located at Mahabalipuram, Chennai. It takes about 45 minutes from Thiruvanmiyur.

The resort is calm and quiet and the manager and all the staff are extremely sweet and helpful.

There are both AC and non AC rooms/cottage and each room has it's own hammock. We stayed in a 5 bed-room since we went as a family.

There are lots of trees and plants making it so relaxing and beautiful.

There is a reading room and a play room and a kitchen. In the kitchen, there are lots of vessels and a fridge so you can cook your own instant meals.

They provide meals in the SU camp area, where they cook homely meals. You can choose to eat in the campus or cook your own meals or there is a A2B within 500 metres where you can eat. There are also plenty of other restaurants close by.

In the SU camp area, there is a hall to conduct meetings and a chapel.

There are lots of shaded areas under the trees to sit and enjoy.

The swimming pool

There are plenty of room to play. There is a swimming pool, badminton/volleyball court, swings for kids and a cricket play area.

My take - The entire place is beautiful and a lovely get away from the routine. Just make sure you don't book on public holidays since there are huge crowds arriving at the SU camp and the meal times becomes hectic!
